do I need to get started?

| You’ll
need a computer with an internet connection. To listen
to a podcast on your computer, you’ll need a sound
card, which you already have if you’ve listened
to music on your computer, or heard anything at all.
Most new computers have a sound card.
If
you want to take the podcasts with you, you’ll
need an mp3 player such as an iPod or iRiver. After
you download the podcast to you computer, you transfer
it to you mp3 player.

How do I get a podcast?

| Subscribe
to a Podcast:
1.
The easiest way is to use iTunes because it’s
an all-in-one program: you can use it to play your music
collection, subscribe to and download podcasts, buy
music and videos, and more.
If
you have iTunes, click the iTunes icon 
next to the podcast you want to subscribe to. Then iTunes
will automatically download new episodes of the show.

2.
You can also use programs such as iPodder, Juice, Doppler
or Transistr. These programs manage all your podcast
subscription. See "Subscribe with Ipoder"
below for a step by step guide for getting started with

an Individual Podcast:

| If
you want to download and listen to only the most recent
episode of a CHUM FM show, go to the main
podcast page and click on the link next to the CHUM
FM show you want.

 Set
the scheduler in iPodder. This tells iPodder when you
want it to automatically check for new podcasts.

You’re
finished! Each day iPodder will automatically deliver
the latest CHUM FM Podcast to your computer! Just synch
your MP3 player and you have CHUM FM ON THE GO, or you
can listen from your computer using iTunes,
Windows Media Player, or any media player of your choice!
