It’s April Fool’s Day. We heard from a lot of pranksters, including the teacher who gave her grade two students a 5000-word assignment, or the kids that put Vaseline on Mom’s toilet – of course, mom slid off and got stuck between the toilet and the sink! One caller suggest you call up a funeral home and ask for Myra Maines (say it to yourself out loud).

We learned that Barack and Michelle Obama gave Queen Elizabeth a brand new iPod, complete with a selection of showtunes. So what would Her Majesty download? Roger suggested his favourite, Young Jeezy, but we suspect it might also be the soundtrack from “We Will Rock You” (by Queen, of course). Maybe Prince? Jewel? We understand that Prince Phillip likes to play air guitar to “My Life Would Suck Without You”)

Okay, THAT was nuts! Hope you didn’t miss this morning’s show – it was jam packed. We started with a visit from the Guiness World Record holder as the longest working weatherman – CTV’s Dave Devall, who is retiring tonight after 48 years on the job. Dave’s a real gent, who’s got the sense of humour of a rascal.

We talked about how gas prices will ensure that families will travel more this summer – and reminded us of those car trips we used to take with our families to read the signs at historical sites – even ones with typos. I saw one last week in Niagara Falls that talked about the collapse of the Honeymoon bridge in Niagara Falls in 1938. The sign said “spectators gathered to witness Mother Nature’s furry”. Hmmm…. furry what?

At about 8:30 we told some of the lamest jokes ever heard. (What do you call a boomerang that doesn’t come back? A stick!) Listen to today’s podcast for a little bit of our own unique brand of torture. If you have any jokes that we can tell without getting fired, email us – rdm@chumfm.com

Tuesday with Roger, Darren & Marilyn - Hey! Who’s da dude with the ‘do?!

Our freak of the week is a guy named Peng Fu, who is in his late ‘70s. Peng hasn’t cut his hair for about 60 years… His hair is now more than 9 feet long and he has to carry all 8 pounds of it in a bag strapped to his back. And no, he says he almost never washes it. Peng Pew!

This morning, all of us on the show received the coolest gift – a frame with pictures that spelled out our names. It was from Alphabet Photography. Check ‘em out at alphabetphotography.com

We talked about Easter eggs – Marilyn remembers looking for Easter eggs on the front of the White House lawn when she was a little girl. I remember having egg fights (not quite as messy as it sounds) – where you tap each other’s hard boiled eggs – whoever has the last unbroken egg wins.

A couple of listeners wrote in that Roger’s voice sounds like the airport announcer at the Cancun airport. We think he sounds more like the guy over the p.a. in the bathroom at Alice Fazooli’s giving Italian lessons!

We kicked off Breakfast in Barbados in fine style. The humidity wreaked havoc on Marilyn’s hair – she now has an afro that rivals Beyonce in that Austin Powers movie!

On Battle of the Sexes women won…again… and now lead 5-1 for the year.

Darren informed us that the best way to treat a sting from a sea urchin is by peeing on it. He also pointed out that if you yourself don’t have to “go”, simply sneak up behind Marilyn and startle her. You’ll be rewarded with a fresh supply of pee immediately.

And the big news of the day is that on Friday morning at 8:30 we will be giving out the first trip for two to Breakfast in Barbados 2010!

It's Day 2 of the Barbados Situation.

Did you know that you get more speed down the slide at the kiddie pool if you have a bare bum? That's what one little British girl named Shelley apparently discovered here yesterday. Of course, when her parents found out, their voices echoed across the island (in perfect Brit accents) "Shelley! Put your knickers on!" It's kinda become a catchphrase down here.

Marilyn had an interesting moment during her catamaran boat ride yesterday. One of the crew members was hosing off our fair Mare after she went swimming with the turtles. At one point Marilyn's top kinda slipped out of place and the guy was happily treated to an eyeful - TWO as a matter of fact. He was impressed!

We had an early visit from comedian Angelo Tsarouchas, who performed last night at the Panasonic Theatre. Angelo is a big fellow (weighing in at about 350 lbs) and said that in the United States, he’s considered svelte. “People in Vegas look at me and say ‘wow, that guy must work out!’”. Darren noticed some snow on Avenue Road yesterday – but discovered it was fake snow from a movie set.

Lots of talk about Swine Flu, but Dr Marla Shapiro is stressing that we simply use common sense. You can check out the Ontario Ministry of Health’s website – www.health.gov.on.ca.

What appliance could you live without? With people looking for ways to save money and cut costs, a lot of people are cutting back on using electrical appliances. The number one appliance that people are using less is the clothes dryer. Marilyn says the one appliance she can’t live without is (quote) “her wabbit”. Gee, what could she possibly mean?

Roger pointed out the top 4 ways to tell if a guy is lying to you…
• Liar Move #1: He wraps his ankle around the leg of a chair. Pulling off a lie is stressful so when a guy is masking the truth, his body will tense up and he'll take a more rigid stance.
• Liar Move #2: He suddenly puts his hands in his pockets. Showing his palms indicates comfort and openness so when he's lying, he'll instinctively feel the need to conceal them.
• Liar Move #3: He shrugs one or both shoulders. The shrug is a way of canceling out an untruth much like crossing the fingers behind the back, except he's unaware of the motion.
• Liar Move #4: He uses an index finger to rub underneath his nose. This sign is usually exhibited by men who don't typically lie, so they feel remorse and hide the mouth as though they can't believe what just came out it.

Did you see the naked cyclists around T.O. this weekend? They were protesting our dependency on oil, but they scared the bejeepers out of many innocent citizens, including our very own Stefanie, who was traveling to Woofstock and got an eyeful out of her rearview mirror. (Stef adroitly covered the eyes of her dog.) Our boss even managed to snap a few pictures – which has resulted in a loss of appetite for most of the staff.

Aussie Chef Curtis Stone, host of “Take Home Chef” on TLC, joined us this morning. Curtis is a new mentor on “The Biggest Loser” at the author of “Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone”. You can hear the interview with Curtis “on demand”.

Josh and the boys have been touring by bus for awhile now - Josh says it’s gotten to the point where he can’t stand the way his bandmates chew their food. This morning we talked about the Top Ten Things Women Need To Get Rid Of Right Now. Here’s the list…

1. Any sincere desire to sleep with a celebrity.
2. Your "skinny" clothes that only fit after the stomach flu.
3. Your sex tape!
4. Cigarettes.
5. Rage. It may (very occasionally) be justified, but it is rarely worth being known as "the crazy lady in 2B"
6. Any guy who doesn't keep his word.
8. That friend who always makes you feel worse about yourself instead of better.
9. The agony you relive when you think of that really embarrassing thing you did........a year ago.
10. Fear of flaunting-in bed, at the office, on the dance floor. Be proud of what you've got.

With the prospect of an LCBO strike looming, I made a pilgrimage to the liquor store yesterday. Although it wasn’t jam packed, the customers that were there were stuffing their shopping carts to the rafters. Some of them had enough booze to start their own liquor store during the strike. (Hmmmmm….)

Did you know that guys actually take much longer to get over a failed romance than women do? Apparently men take the romantic thing far more seriously and hurt deeper than women. One of our listeners told us that women are able to move on quicker because they talk (and talk) about breakups with their girlfriends. Any thoughts? (email rdm@chumfm.com)

Have your friends ever made you do something you regretted? Darren talked a bit about peer pressure and how your friends can even decide the direction your life takes, including major decisions like career paths. Psycologists have developed a simple test to determine if you may be a shopaholic. The test asks you to rate the following, based on a scale of 1 to 7. “1” is never and “7” is often.

- My closet has unopened shopping bags in it.
- Much of my life centers around buying things.
- I buy things I don’t need
- I buy things I do not plan to buy.
- Others may consider me a shopaholic
- I consider myself an impulse purchaser

If you earn a score higher than 25, you are probably a “shopaholic”. Or an even faster “shopaholic” test is to check the balance of your credit card bill!

We hear that you’ll have more success getting what you want if you talk to the person’s right ear. Darren pointed out that there’s a hearing aid store in the U.S. called HUH?, which stands for “Helping U Hear”.

Darren was also relieved to find out that a new study suggest that talking to yourself is actually a healthy way to get through life. However, they also warn that talking to yourself is only beneficial if you say nice things to yourself.

With Canada Day yesterday it's messed up some of our internal calendars...so it's NOT Monday, it IS Thursday and if you're at work today - only one more day before the weekend! How great does that feel?!

RDM were sans Marilyn again today - and will be next week as well - but the beautiful, lovely and talented Ingrid Schumacher is back in to fill the void!

It's Monday - again...but how would we ever get to the weekend if we didn't have a Monday? (wow, that was deep for a Monday!)

Roger and Darren were back again today with Ingrid...Marilyn will be back next week.

The gang was very excited that the morning started off with sugary sweets - that's how you win your way into their hearts, fyi!

A lot of Michael Jackson stories still coming out - which ones are fact and which are trash, we'll have to find out on a day-to-day basis right now.
The memorial is tomorrow at 1pm ET and you can catch all the footage on CP24...it's supposed to be about 2 hours long with rumored special guests like JT, Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder and possibly Diana Ross...you won't want to miss this history being made.

Yay - thank goodness it's Friday!

Roger and Ingrid were anxious to finish up today and start their vacation! Ingrid is off for 2 weeks and Roger is off for 1. Marilyn is back on Tuesday...

So, on Monday it'll be Darren and Maie...I (Stef) get to go back and by myself since Producer Tom is back! (yay)

Darren brought his little baby in today - his dog Maya. She showed us all how we're supposed to behave, but you can't teach old dogs new tricks...she is one of the best behaved dogs in the universe...which is weird because we still haven't trained Darren.

Monday, July 13, 2009 – Wait! Don’t I know you from “24”? and “Star Trek”? and “Prison Break”?....

This morning we chatted with actress Michelle Forbes, a character actress who has had a pretty impressive resume over the past few years, including roles in “24”, “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, “Prison Break”, “In Treatment”, “True Blood” and “Durham County”, season 2 of which debuts tonight on TMN.

We talked about working with the public in the travel business and got a call from Amy who used to work on a cruise ship. Among the questions she was faced on a daily basis: “What time is the midnight buffet?”, “do these stairs go up?” and “what elevator do you take to get the front of the ship?”. As Amy reminded us, “some people pack their brains when they go on vacation.”

I had the chance to check out “West Side Story” at the Stratford Festival a few days ago. If you’re into amazing choreography, solid acting and great music, it’s definitely worth the trip to Stratford. It's a musical with an edge. Hope you love it as much as I did!

Rob Thomas is joining us next Tuesday morning (July 21st ) and we’ll be giving away more passes for you to join us in the studio to meet Rob in person and see him perform live!

- When the Halloween pumpkin at your house has more teeth than your spouse
- when you think “loading the dishwasher” means getting your wife drunk.

Darren also spotted an elderly lady with a Flo Rida t-shirt on yesterday… until he realized it just said “Florida”.

Today was a lot of fun...Roger came in with his dog Zara and was such a good girl.

SO - Darren and Roger decide to eat some!!! No Joke!! Zara was not impressed!
