Store owner David Chen will be back in court today, charged with kidnapping in a citizens arrest of a shoplifting suspect. And there's a report some of the charges could be dropped,
Chen was arrested on May 23, charged with assault, kidnapping, forcible confinement and concealment of a weapon, after he and two staff members at the Lucky Moose Market chased, caught and held a theft suspect until police arrived. Chen has already turned down an offger tio plead guilty and get a suspended sentence.
Now, his lawyer will meet with the Crown lawyer and judge this morning, to have a new discussion
